Cream or Scum?
I don't know if you have heard of Bizarre magazine - not the Quirrie one that had some camp pictures, but a bongo Yeek-rag that tries to be distasteful.
Distasteful? As far as I can see, all bongo magazines are distasteful. If this one is trying to be distasteful it must be bending over backwards so far it is practically upright again.
Be that as it may, it has an on-line forum that has currently been discussing our goth interview in a particularly unpleasant manner (the only worthwhile comment was that when Miss Martindale - pictured looking rather gorgeous - was called a "dyke" by one of the types, another type responded "She isn't a dyke, she's a lesbian. 'Dyke' means ugly-lesbian". Out of the mouths of knaves and mucklings!
Other than that the place is repulsive. A bunch of foul-mouthed, common, gormless, worthless type 3s. The cream of the Cockney Raj.
I mentioned this to a friend, and she commented that they sounded more like the scum of the Cockney Raj to her.
I pondered the point. I pondered the point. I thought of the few Famous and Powerful Yeeks I have heard of. I concluded that there is really no distinction between cream and scum in the Cockney Raj. They are indistinguishable. The thick stuff that floats to the top.
Oh - and I thought you wouldn't want to miss that picture!

Re: Cream or Scum?
The fundamental trouble with the Yeek is that when a gentlemanly culture ceases to produce gentlemen you don't get the next-best thing (the way you do in a non-gentlemanly culture like America) - you get vermin.
Corruptio optimi pessima - the best, corrupted, becomes the worst.
